I knew another side of Caden Tellier than some may have known. I knew him as a worshipping lover of Jesus. Countless youth trips I was blessed to tag along on have been running through my mind and heart and recalling how Caden loved worshipping the Lord. Most knew him as being passionate about sports. I knew him in his passion for Jesus and for worshipping the One he loved. I wouldn’t take anything for those memories that are burned in my heart and memory bank.
I told someone earlier today this is one of the greatest mysteries we will have this side of life. Caden was so full of life, the light of Jesus, and full of so much promise and hope for a generation. As to the whys and what ifs I do not know. For now we hurt, we grieve, we weep, but we also hope, as odd as that seems in these moments, because of the promise of Jesus Christ. I do know he is fully alive, more alive than he’s ever been, at this very moment, in the presence of Jesus and for that we rejoice. Caden sees in full, face-to-face, the One he adored. As he is on his face before the Lord in worship at this moment, I know he is already praying for us who remain because he really wants us to be able to enter into the magnificent glory he’s experiencing in these moments. That comes through relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Caden would tell you there’s nothing truer.
I love you, dear boy.
